Seed Germination

Seed temperature: 20-26°C

Ambient temperature: 22-26°C (until the plants stick out of the soil)

Seed Germination in Water

  1. Put the seeds in a glass or bowl of water, which has a temperature of 22-26°C.
  2. Place it in a warm place (22-26°C).
  3. Wait 24 hours and check if the seeds have opened and a small root has come out.
  4. Check your seeds every 12-24h.
  5. After 1-5 (maximum 14) days, the seeds open and small, white root tips develope.
  6. Fill your pots with soil and press a 5-10 mm deep hole into it.
  7. Take the seeds carefully out of the water.
  8. Place them in the holes and cover them with soil.
  9. Make sure the soil is loose, as you dont want to slow down the growth of your plants.
  10. Place the pots under your grow lamp with an 18 / 6- or 24/0 light cycle.
  11. The soil should be kept moist by watering it carefully and regularly.
  12. The ambient temperature should be 22-26°C.
  13. Wait until the plants have grown about 2-5 cm out of the soil.

Seed Germination Between Moist Paper

  1. Moisten two sheets of kitchen paper with lukewarm water (22-26°C) and place them on a lukewarm plate.
  2. Put your seeds in between, cover everything with another plate and place it in a dark place with room temperature (22-26°C).
  3. Check every day if the kitchen paper is moist enough. If it is too dry, add a little water. (It must be moist, otherwise the root will die.)
  4. Check your seeds daily, after a few days roots will be visible (1-5, max. 14 days).
  5. Fill your pots with soil and press a 5-10 mm deep hole into it.
  6. Place your seeds in the holes and cover them with soil.
  7. Make sure the soil is loose so as not to slow down the growth of your plant.
  8. Place it under your grow lamp with an 18/6- or 24/0 light cycle.
  9. The soil should be kept moist by watering it carefully and regularly.
  10. The ambient temperature should be 22-26°C.
  11. Wait until the plants have grown about 2-5 cm out of the soil.

Seed Germination with Rockwool Blocks

  1. Place a seed in a rockwool block and soak it with lukewarm water (22-26°C).
  2. In order to achieve high humidity, place the blocks in a greenhouse and close it. The greenhouse should be in a dark warm place (22-26°C) or light covered.
  3. You do not have to add water here.Your seeds will germinate after 1-5 days.
  4. After 4-14 days 1 cm high seedlings should be visible.
  5. If this is the case take the rockwool blocks and plant them in your pots so that the blocks are slightly covered with soil.
  6. Wait until the plants have grown about 2-5 cm out of the soil.

Germination Directly in the Soil

Place your seeds in a glass of water mixed with root stimulator for an hour. Make sure you use high-quality soil, preferably a pre-fertilized flower soil (pH value: 6.0-6.5). Plant your seeds 5-10mm deep into the soil, so that the seedlings can quickly get to the surface. The soil should be loose to support rapid growth. The soil should always be moist and about 22 - 25°C warm. Your seeds germinate in the soil and sprout after 4-10 (maximum 20) days.
